45,000 Seat Capacity
The Rutgers University Stadium Project included expansion to nearly 42,000 seats with all the amenities of a first-class facility. There is nothing physical that remains from the old structure; the field had to be shifted 25 ft. to the west in order to make the playing surface large enough for national and international soccer matches. Seating also was added to move fans closer to the action.
The stadium features: light stations that make night games and network television broadcasts possible; a two-level press box that seats over 200 print and broadcast media personnel; eight 1,000 sq. ft. concession stands strategically placed throughout the stadium; a state- of-the-art sound system; a new scoreboard which towers over the south end zone.
