The "Park School" is a new elementary school built on a 4.7 acre site fronting the corner of Verona Avenue and Manchester Place, located in the North Ward of Newark. The school addresses overcrowding at Abington and Ridge Schools. Referred to as the “Park School” because of its proximity to Branch Brook Park, the 118,638 s.f. three-story school accommodates 690 students grades Pre-K thru 8th.

The school includes general use classrooms, a cafeteria and kitchen, auditorium, gymnasium, music rooms, district-funded health clinic, support spaces, and playground areas. The facility includes on-grade parking.

The school was designed by architectural firm RJF Fletcher Thompson designed the school that was constructed by Terminal Construction Corporation. The school opened in September 2009.
